Roald Amundsen Description

(Used to be a doctor) Explorer.
Born in July 16 1872 Borge Norway.
First man who reached South Pole.
Died in June 18 1928 During a rescue attempt.
They made a new sled that has 50 pounds but the original sled has 195 pounds so it wouldn't break through the ice and make it easier for the dogs to pull.
They used dogs but Robert Falcon Scott used ponies/horse that is why they did not make it
Roald Amundsen did not tell his group that they are going to south after he saw the news that north pole has been reached.
His mother died at his age of 21.
Roald Amundsen started sailing in his age of 25.
His father died at his age of 14.
Roald Dahl was named after Roald Amundsen.

Roald became a crew member on various ships travelling to the Arctic.
